Music Teacher

As of August, BASIS Prague international school is seeking a full-time/part-time elementary Music Teacher for Levels 1 to 7 (children from 5-10 years of age). At BASIS Prague, we value Music as an essential part of a well-rounded education and students Levels 1 - 4 receive Music 30 minutes instruction every day. Levels 5 and 6 have two 45 minute classes per week, and Level 7 has one 45 minute class per week. During this time, students learn the basics of music theory, music appreciation, voice performance, and are introduced to a variety of musical instruments.

- Full-time option: the primary role for our Music teacher will be delivering between three to seven 30 or 45-minute classes daily.  Additional responsibilities include working with the Arts team to produce two school performances (December and June), running an after school club once a week, and monitoring and supporting students during some non-academic activities several times a week.

- Part-time option: two to three days per week teaching Music to Levels 1-7. No additional non-academic responsibilities are included in the part-time option. Approximately 10 working hours per week.

What we require:

•        College/University degree in music or a related field

• Passion for teaching music

•        Excellent written and spoken skills in the English language

•        High motivation to explain advanced concepts to students at different knowledge and skill levels

• Teaching experience with the target age group (5-12 years old)

• Legally entitled to work in the Czech Republic,

Preferred skills:

•        Knowledge of the Czech language
