Tesla has announced that its refreshed Model Y, known as Juniper, is now available for orders in the Czech Republic. This updated version of Tesla's popular electric SUV offers new design enhancements, upgraded features, and increased driving range, catering to the growing demand for electric vehicles in the region.

While deliveries are set to begin in March, Tesla is initially offering only the Long Range variant with all-wheel drive in the premium Launch Series. Buyers can choose between two colors—black and silver—alongside other premium upgrades designed to enhance performance and comfort.

Priced at CZK 1,529,900, the Launch Series includes exclusive features like enhanced acceleration, an upgraded interior, and improved aerodynamics. With these updates, the Model Y boasts a driving range of up to 568 km, a slight improvement over its predecessor.

What’s new in the updated Tesla Model Y?

The updated Model Y features a sleeker design, including a front light bar inspired by Tesla's Cybertruck and redesigned adaptive headlights. The Launch Series also offers a unique badge, vegan suede interior, and additional branding details.

In terms of performance, the Long Range variant of the Model Y comes with Tesla's Acceleration Boost software, allowing it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds. While the top speed is capped at 217 km/h—slightly lower than before—the emphasis on comfort and range reflects Tesla’s effort to balance performance with practicality.

Interior updates include ventilated front seats with redesigned shapes, deeper rear seats with electric adjustments, and an improved cabin finish with premium materials. Passengers in the rear now benefit from an 8-inch touchscreen for controlling ventilation or enjoying streaming content.

Czech buyers can also expect Tesla's latest suspension technology and acoustic glass, which enhance ride comfort and reduce cabin noise. These features align with Tesla’s broader push to make EVs more accessible and practical for everyday use.

Tesla’s growing presence in Czechia

Tesla's launch of the Model Y Juniper reflects its increasing footprint in Czechia. Last summer, the company opened its second Czech dealership in Brno, complementing its flagship store in Prague. This expansion was in response to surging local demand, fueled by government subsidies of up to CZK 200,000 for electric vehicles.

Czechia also boasts one of Central Europe’s densest Tesla Supercharger networks, making EV ownership increasingly practical. While Tesla vehicles remain most popular in urban areas like Prague and Brno, the company’s growing accessibility is set to attract even more customers in the years ahead.

Tesla’s local operations have also benefited from the neighboring Berlin Gigafactory, which produces vehicles tailored for European customers, including the new Model Y.

While Tesla currently dominates the premium EV segment, the competition in Czechia is heating up. Tesla was the top-selling EV brand in Czechia through much of 2024, but was dethroned by local brand Škoda in October following high sales of its Enyaq model.
