Billing itself as the “biggest craft beer garden in Central Europe”, Permanent Beer Festival, a beer garden at Pragovka, the Prague 9 culture space, kicked off its second season with an expanded food and beer menu and culture offerings in early March.

Operating in the mural-bedecked open-air courtyard of the former industrial space, which once housed production of Praga cars during the First Republic, the beer garden will stay open through September this year with organizers promising, aside from twelve rotating taps, regular lectures, workshops, exhibitions, and markets.

New Matuška-helmed brewery and taproom opens in Karlín

In addition to draft beer from microbreweries such as Kamenice, Clock, Nachmelena Opice, and Matuška, visitors can sample dozens of bottled beers from Czech and international breweries.

Food is also an important aspect of the PBF which has an open-plan kitchen sending out a variety of grilled nibbles and beer garden classics such as grilled hermelin, klobasa, burgers, steaks, and sausages cooked up by local food vendors.

Guests can also grill their own sausages over barrels.

Open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 4pm to 10pm and on the weekends at 12pm for lunch.

Other beer-garden gems include Kasárna Karlín, which has opened its Garage Bar for the season, Dva Kouhouti, and Containall Stromovka and Stalin — due to open for the season in May.

Popular foodie shipping container hotspot Manifesto Market is another great place to grab a low-key beer outdoors and recently announced plans for possible expansion into Smichov.
