Opposition movement STAN has sharply narrowed the gap with Prime Minister Andrej Babiš’s ANO in a new Kantar CZ election model, while all three governing parties have lost support.

The October model, published by Czech Television on Sunday, puts ANO first with 29.5 percent and STAN second with 23.5 percent. Their six-percentage-point gap compares with 13.5 points in Kantar’s August survey.

The Motorists, one of ANO’s coalition partners, fell below the 5 percent threshold required for individual parties to enter the Chamber of Deputies. However, other polling agencies continue to show a substantially wider lead for ANO.

STAN gains voters from government and opposition

STAN rose by 6.5 percentage points from August, extending a climb from 15.5 percent in June. Its latest rating is more than double the 11.23 percent it received in the October 2025 parliamentary election.

Kantar analyst Nikola Stárková said the movement was attracting voters from ANO and other opposition parties.

People switching from ODS cited weaker leadership and the party’s insufficiently prominent opposition role, she told Czech Television.

ODS dropped from 15.5 to 12.5 percent, while the Pirates fell from 8.5 to 7.5 percent.

ANO’s decline was smaller, from 30.5 percent in August to 29.5 percent. Nevertheless, its support has gradually fallen from 34.5 percent in Kantar’s January and February models.

Stárková said departing ANO voters cited disappointment over unfulfilled election promises. Some also expressed dissatisfaction with its coalition with SPD and the Motorists.

SPD fell from 6.5 to 5.5 percent, leaving it just above the parliamentary threshold. The Motorists slipped from 5 to 4.5 percent.

Other polls show a different-sized gap

KDU-ČSL increased to 4 percent and TOP 09 to 2.5 percent, both below the threshold when measured independently. Together with ODS, their ratings total 19 percent, compared with Spolu’s 23.36 percent election result. That sum is not a separate forecast of support for a joint coalition ticket.

Naše Česko, founded by South Bohemian Governor and former ODS member Martin Kuba, edged up to 3 percent.

Kantar’s findings differ notably from other recent models. STEM’s October poll put ANO at 31.3 percent and STAN at 16.6 percent. NMS, surveying around the turn of October and November, recorded 29.9 percent for ANO and 17.8 percent for STAN.

The Kantar survey involved 1,005 respondents interviewed between Oct. 12 and 30. Its reported statistical margin of error ranges from 1.2 to 3.2 percentage points, depending on party size.

The figures estimate voting preferences at the time of fieldwork; they are not election results or projections of parliamentary seats.
