A Prague pizzeria that opened less than a year ago has already been recognized among Europe’s best. Diskotéka Pizza in Dejvice was named an Excellent Pizzeria in the 2026 edition of 50 Top Pizza Europa, an annual guide highlighting notable pizza destinations across the continent.

The recognition comes just ten months after Diskotéka opened on Jaselská Street last September. The restaurant joins three other Prague pizzerias recognized by the guide this year, with Pizza Nuova once again being the lone Czech venue in the numbered top 50.

According to the Italian-based evaluators behind the guide, Diskotéka stood out for its atmosphere and quality of traditional Neapolitan-style pizza, with its margherita receiving particular praise.

New pizzeria makes fast impact

Diskotéka Pizza was founded by Vladislav Bogdanov, who also operates the nearby La Forme Bakery, together with Tigran Avakyan and Neapolitan pizza maker Giuseppe Della Rocca.

The pizzeria’s distinctive feature is its silver, spherical pizza oven designed to resemble a disco ball, which inspired the restaurant’s name. The venue combines a casual dining space with music events and DJ nights, creating a hybrid between a pizzeria and a neighborhood cultural spot.

The restaurant focuses on sourdough pizza prepared in the Neapolitan tradition, with classic options such as margherita and diavola alongside more contemporary combinations. The menu also includes white pizzas featuring ingredients such as mortadella, burrata, gorgonzola and pear.

The 50 Top Pizza inspectors described Diskotéka as having an atmosphere that feels more Italian than Czech and praised its signature margherita as “incomparable.” Its tiramisu was also highlighted among the best desserts tasted by the evaluators.

“We knew from the beginning that we wanted to make the best pizza we had ever eaten,” founders Bogdanov and Avakyan said. They added that the recognition is both confirmation of their approach and motivation to continue improving.

Three other Prague pizzerias honored

The only Czech pizzeria to make the official numbered European top 50 list this year was Pizza Nuova, which ranked 30th overall and was also named the best pizzeria in Czechia. It also made the list in 2019, 2023, and 2025.

The Náměstí Republiky restaurant, part of the Ambiente group, has been associated with authentic Neapolitan pizza since joining the True Neapolitan Pizza Association in 2006. The guide praised its use of Italian ingredients, wood-fired oven and popular tasting-style menu that allows guests to sample multiple pizzas and pasta dishes.

Two additional Prague venues received Excellent Pizzeria recognition alongside Diskotéka Pizzera: Da Pietro and Sasy The Original. Slice Slice Baby, which earned the recognition in the 2025 list, fell off this year.

Da Pietro, which originated in Plzeň before opening its Prague location in Vinohrady in 2024, was recognized for its carefully sourced Italian ingredients, long-fermented dough and modern take on Neapolitan pizza.

Sasy The Original, located in central Prague, earned praise for its traditional approach, focusing on simple recipes, quality ingredients and classic Neapolitan flavors.

The latest results continues a strong showing for Prague’s pizza scene. In the 2025 edition of the guide, Pizza Nuova also reached the European top 50 (at number 27), while Sasy The Original and Da Pietro were among the venues receiving recognition as Excellent Pizzerias.

The new ranking adds another international accolade for Prague’s growing restaurant scene, with a recently opened local venue now joining some of the city’s longest-established pizza names.
