Prague's pizza scene has long been reliable, if predictable. But a new wave of independent pizzerias is rewriting the rules, trading white tablecloths for disco-ball ovens, and tradition for experimentation.
These aren't your standard red-sauce spots: one hires primarily disabled staff, another slings sourdough slices from a bicycle-themed counter, and a third pairs Neapolitan pies with natural wine under moody red lighting.
What unites them isn't novelty, but a shared commitment to quality ingredients. Whether you're after a quick lunch or a slow evening with drinks, Prague's pizza makers are proving they've got personality.
But before we turn our gaze to the new guard of pizza spots, we must not forget the pioneers. Le Pizza Di Frankie is an at-home Neopolitan pizza business created by Francesco "Frankie" Gallucci. The restaurant is located in Prague 4, inside the establishment of Hotel Okar. A documentary film was also created that details Galluci's story—he began making pizzas in his home kitchen and turned it into a business with a media following.
Pasta Fidli
Tucked away on Štefánikova 278/40 in Prague’s Smíchov district is Pasta Fidli. This local eatery is more than just another spot for fresh pizza and pasta.
The restaurant is part of the Etincelle Group, which employs nearly 200 people with physical and mental disabilities, helping to break down long-standing employment barriers. At Pasta Fidli especially, twelve employees with disabilities currently work in supporting roles in the restaurant.
The menu offers a wide selection of handcrafted fresh pasta that use quality Italian ingredients and avoid any artificial additives. Stop by to enjoy tagliatelle with pistachio pesto, topped with ricotta. Or, a ravioli dish that incorporates fresh pepperoni, artichokes and sun-dried tomatoes. The pizza menu is versatile—check out the Pizza Bianca which includes sour cream, garlic and rosemary, or the Pizza Carbonara which combines pancetta with mozzarella and fresh grana padano cheese.
When customers order tagliatelle, rigatoni or other fresh pasta shapes, they are also participating in a larger mission of bringing people into the workforce and allowing them to build self-confidence in everyday life.

Pizza Bici
When you are on the go and seeking a quick but quality pizza meal, check out the menu at Pizza Bici. Located in the Dejvice district of Prague at Na Hutích 2, Pizza Bici is drawing attention with its focus on small-batch dough and tasty sourdough.
The menu is built for takeaway, but pizza can still be enjoyed at the restaurant. Signature options include the “Marinara Sprint,” a tomato and garlic classic, the “Mortadella & Pistachio,” sweet and savory balance and the “Diavola Express” with spicy salami heat.
The menu is simple but purposeful—sourdough crusts bake in only a couple of minutes and are topped with quality mortadella, pistachio and honey mustard. Prague is a city with countless pizza options but Pizza Bici isn’t flashy, it delivers something simple that feels both artisanal and immediate.

Diskotéka Pizza
Diskotéka Pizza is located at Jaselská 246/20 and offers another unique approach to takeaway-style pizza. We discovered the cafe in a post on the Taste of Prague Instagram that features pizzas baked in a sparkling, silver pizza oven that resembles a disco ball.
Customers can select either tomato sauce or a white sauce, and then select from a variety of pizza styles. The menu features the classic Margherita with Italian tomatoes, mozzarella, olive oil and fresh basil, priced at CZK 275. Vegetarian options like the Regina Bianca, featuring mozzarella, gorgonzola, pears, hazelnuts, and extra virgin olive oil, are also offered at CZK 330. The restaurant also offers dessert such as tiramisu that is available for CZK 170, which ends a savory meal on a sweet note.

Sip Sip Hooray
For a spot that combines evening cocktails with pizza dinners, check out Sip Sip Hooray on Dělnická Street. A soft red light looms over the interior of the restaurant, which is minimal with industrial accents. Known for small plates that pair perfectly with their curated drink list, the restaurant is a social hub where friends toast to good times in a quiet and mysterious atmosphere.
Le Pizza Di Frankie
The bar and pizza cafe is chef and co-owner Kateřina Jakusová's second act to Slice Slice Baby Pizzeria–located in Holešovice. Sip Sip Hooray offers a pizza selection but it is recommended to buy a drink as well. The cocktail menu offers Pelomas, Negoronis, Moravian white wines, beer from Matuška and non-alcoholic options as well.

Pizza Gatto Nero
Located in the Vinohrady and Holešovice neighborhoods is Pizza Gatto-Nero, a restaurant that offers a refreshing take on the Neapolitan pizza style. The restaurant is owned by a family that cares deeply about eating food with quality ingredients.
According to local guides, Pizza Gatto Nero stands out because it sources seasonal ingredients from small farmers and embraces inventive toppings such as kimchi or beetroot chutney, all the while maintaining an approachable price point.
The menu offers a wide selection of pizzas such as the classic margarita, the parmesan ham pizza, the “Gatto Nero” with tomato arugula and burrata and the “Tomato Morris” with mozzarella, tomato and baked eggplant.
For those planning a visit: it’s relatively small and the ambiance is intimate, so arriving early or making a reservation is wise. Delivery is available, and they list hours with take-out and delivery beginning around midday and stretching into the evening.
