The video depicts the man jumping between the carriages while the train was moving, and subsequently falling into the track area. After the train departed, he managed to climb back onto the platform.
Officers found him during a nighttime patrol
Municipal police said officers conducting a nighttime inspection noticed the man lying on the platform after stepping off a train.
When they approached, they discovered a severe bleeding injury to his left leg, with the foot severed below the ankle. They immediately began first aid, applying pressure to control the bleeding until paramedics arrived.
The officers also enlisted nearby witnesses, who collected a first-aid kit and medical supplies from the station supervisor.
Paramedics subsequently took the injured man to Královské Vinohrady University Hospital.
Police warn against riding outside carriages
Municipal police urged passengers not to attempt to travel on the connecting equipment between metro cars.
“Reckless behavior on public transport poses a direct threat to life and health,” the force said.
The footage was published several days after the accident to illustrate the consequences of such behavior.
