Looking for something fun, creative (and free!) to do with your kids in Prague? Kunsthalle Praha and Expats.cz are teaming up for a special day of English-friendly art workshops designed just for families.
With limited spots and a rare chance to explore the gallery in a relaxed setting, this is one of those events you’ll want to book early.
Choose the workshop that fits your child
Two sessions will take place on Saturday, April 18, each tailored to a different age group:
Architura (ages 3–8)
A fun, hands-on introduction to art and architecture through an “Architour” based on movement, storytelling, and simple creative activities, perfect for younger children.
10 a.m. to 11 a.m., more information here.
What I Don't See in the Gallery (ages 6–11)
An interactive workshop for older kids exploring how we experience art, encouraging curiosity, observation, and creative thinking.
1 p.m. to 3 p.m., more information here.
More than a workshop
This event isn’t just about art, it’s also about community.
Meet other international families, connect with parents, and enjoy a welcoming space where kids can explore and adults can share experiences.
Members of the Expats.cz editorial team will also be there, so if you’ve ever wanted to tell us what kind of family content you need more of, this is your chance. From schools to activities to everyday life in Prague, your feedback helps shape our future coverage.
Both sessions take place inside Kunsthalle Praha and are led in English by experienced instructors. The morning workshop is scheduled to give families a quieter, more intimate gallery experience before peak hours.
How to join
The workshops are free, but capacity is limited, and registration is required. Reserve your spot early to avoid missing out.
You can sign up for one or both sessions, depending on your child’s age.
About Kunsthalle
Kunsthalle Praha is a contemporary art space in central Prague, showcasing international exhibitions, supporting artists in developing new work, and hosting a wide range of public programs.
Housed in a former electric substation, a building that won the Czech National Architecture Prize in 2022 for its transformation, the institution aims to connect local and international art scenes, offer fresh perspectives on 20th- and 21st-century art, and create an open, engaging space for diverse audiences.
Beyond exhibitions, Kunsthalle Praha fosters a community around art through its membership program, inviting visitors to take part in shared experiences, exclusive events, and closer access to the institution’s ongoing story.
