New long-distance train will run from Prague to Croatia at least three times a week

Residents of the Czech Republic will soon have a new way to get to Croatia: a direct train from private carrier RegioJet.

Starting June 30, RegioJet will begin work on a direct train from Prague, through Brno, to Rijeka, Croatia, at least three times a week, according to a report in Lidovky.cz. RegioJet spokesman Aleš Ondrůj said the train service will be operational by mid-September.

“We plan to specify all the details in the coming days, when we will also start selling tickets. We will also contact travel agencies to transport their clients to Croatia,” Ondrůj told Lidovky.cz in a statement.

Czech residents will arrive in Rijeka on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. From there, buses would take tourists to their individual resorts along the coast. Czech residents can now travel to Croatia for vacation without a 14-day mandatory quarantine or COVID-19 testing so long as they fill in a form prior to arriving.
