Prague’s culture scene in spring 2025 is set to make a splash with musicals and soundtracks through to orchestras. The Congress Centre will Broadway spectacle The Phantom of the Opera as well as a one-woman show by Sex and the City creator Candace Bushnell. Prague museum DOX will present a retrospective on the late, great filmmaker David Lynch and a live performance of a Netflix phenomenon's soundtrack rounds out the mix.

‘Phantom’ brings Broadway to Prague

The stirring musical numbers of The Phantom of the Opera are set to wow Prague audiences at the Congress Centre, with 13 shows running from March 19 to April 6. The European tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s masterpiece kicked-off with sold-out performances in Sofia, featuring Nadim Naaman as the Phantom and Georgia Wilkinson as Christine.

A cast of 100 actors, crew members, and musicians brings the haunting tale of passion, obsession, and romance to life with stunning sets, dazzling costumes, and beloved songs like Think of Me and The Music of the Night. Sex and the City creator Bushnell talks Bradshaw

Author and journalist Candace Bushnell, whose life and times as a single woman in 1990s Manhattan inspired HBO’s groundbreaking series Sex and the City, is bringing her one-woman show to Prague on March 4 at the Congress Centre.

Bushnell will share the story behind her book, based on columns she wrote for the New York Observer, and discuss how her iconic character Carrie Bradshaw came to life. She’ll also offer personal anecdotes about her early days in New York and reflections on friendship, love, and independence. The show will be performed in English with Czech subtitles. Surrealist film master remembered at DOX

Prague’s DOX Centre for Contemporary Art will pay tribute to the late David Lynch with In Flames, a major retrospective celebrating the visionary filmmaker and artist. From April to November 2025, the exhibition will explore Lynch’s extensive creative output—from his early paintings and sculptures to his iconic films and musical projects.

Curator Otto M. Urban emphasizes Lynch’s deep connection to visual art, a lesser-known facet of his career. The exhibition, collaborating with Paris’s Item Éditions and Los Angeles’s Pace Gallery, will feature film screenings, performances, and rare works from Lynch’s artistic archives. More info here.

Immersive ‘Squid Game’ soundtrack at the Spiral

The thrilling soundtrack of Squid Game will be performed live for the first time in Czechia on April 19, 2025. Acclaimed composer Jung Jaeil, known for his work on the film Parasite, will take the stage at Prague’s Spirála. This one-night-only event will feature the Czech National Symphony Orchestra and promises to bring the gripping soundtrack of Netflix’s global phenomenon to life.

Attendees can expect a stunning visual show that combines Jaeil’s suspenseful melodies with a cinematic flair, allowing fans to immerse themselves in the world of Korean drama. More info here.

Chicago Symphony Orchestra debuts at Prague Spring

For the first time in its illustrious history, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) will perform at the Prague Spring Festival in Czechia. Conducted by Jaap van Zweden, the CSO will showcase Gustav Mahler’s deeply personal Symphony No. 6, often referred to as the "Tragic," which reflects the composer’s tumultuous relationship with his wife, Alma.
