One of Prague's popular outdoor attractions is back with a new addition. The bobsleigh track in Prosek reopened on Oct. 21 following reconstruction, introducing a second ride alongside its original track.
The new Alpine Coaster uses a rail-guided system, allowing visitors to travel along an elevated track while controlling their own speed using hand-operated brakes.
According to Czech Radio, the addition is only the second Alpine Coaster of its kind in Czechia.
Two tracks, one attraction
The original Prosek bobsleigh track first opened in 2003 and has long been a popular destination for families and visitors looking for an alternative outdoor activity in Prague.
Unlike the original ride, where sleds travel through a fixed channel, the new Alpine Coaster runs along rails, offering a different riding experience.
Together, the two tracks can accommodate up to 400 riders per hour. Riders can adjust their speed using control levers, making the experience suitable for those who prefer a slower ride as well as those looking for more excitement.
More facilities coming in 2027
The reconstruction also includes a new building with restaurants, giving visitors somewhere to stop for food and drinks between rides.
A children's playground is expected to open in spring 2027, expanding the site's appeal to families with younger children.
Located in Prague 9, the reopened attraction offers residents and visitors another option for an active afternoon without leaving the city.
