The afterschool “kroužky” is an important part of the Czech style of education and an opportunity for kids to take a break from classroom learning and dive into hands-on fun be it swimming, ceramics, or any other number of activities.

While Czech schools are currently closed, and millions of parents anxiously awaiting news of their re-opening, some local kids’ clubs are helping to ease their burden by offering online courses via Zoom, Facebook live streams, and other platforms.

These are just a handful of Prague-based clubs that are keeping kids engaged and entertained during the shutdown, however if we’ve missed your favorite let us know by leaving a comment below the article:

The organization will present a video wrap up of its activities for public viewing after Easter Break.

From April 18, the theatre will begin its new term online, with weekly Saturday sessions and after-school courses for exam students all conducted virtually. The youth theatre says it’s eagerly awaiting the lifting of the restrictions and hopes to be back on the real stage as soon as it is safe to do so.

For families staying in the Czech Republic over the summer, in August PYT will offer four, week-long summer camps open to all children aged 8-13 years. Each week the students will devise and perform a brand-new play from scratch.
