Prague’s international school community already offers several educational systems, including American and British curricula. Now, Canadian International High School, located in Prague’s central Holešovice district, offers a university-focused pathway for students preparing for future studies abroad.

“Our mission is not only to provide an outstanding international education but also to create an environment where students develop a true love of learning,” explains Julia Grebenik, the school’s director. “We will do everything to help students enjoy their educational journey, unlock their potential, and build a strong foundation for their future success."

Canadian International High School positions itself as a competitively priced option compared with other international schools in Prague, with several benefits included in tuition. Students receive an iPad for academic and personal use, a school uniform, annual gym access, academic guidance, the chance to attend organized international study trips with staff supervision, and access to the Exchange program.

Launched under the iLove.Study brand, the new school is set to open in September 2026 with a fully English-language program for students in Grades 10–12. Applications are now open for Grades 10, 11 and 12. Here’s why the Canadian model offers a more direct route from high school in Prague to admissions abroad, for families looking toward universities in the U.S., Canada, the UK and more.

The Canadian curricula advantage

Canadian International High School helps students remain in Prague while working toward a Canadian diploma. In partnership with Toronto Imperial School, students have access to a Canadian curriculum, teaching methods, and academic standards while studying in Prague.

All classes are taught in English by native and English-speaking teachers from Canada and other countries. After Grade 10, students choose between two academic pathways: Business & Social Science or Engineering. Before choosing, students complete a structured career assessment with personalized academic guidance to identify their strengths, interests, and most suitable academic pathway.

The school also builds international exposure into the student experience. Educational trips are organized every semester to destinations such as Canada, the U.S., the UK, Germany, and Switzerland. Through the Exchange program, students can spend one or two semesters at one of 40 partner schools across the United States.

Why graduation at Grade 12 matters

Completing 13 years of school before university is common in the Czech system. In Canada, students finish high school after Grade 12. That is how Canadian International High School in Prague operates, and is one of the school’s clearest differences, with a clear impact on each student’s university path.

At the end of Grade 12, students earn the Ontario Secondary School Diploma, known as the OSSD, a Canadian qualification accepted by many universities worldwide. The OSSD is recognized in more than 20 countries and accepted by more than 30,000 universities globally, including institutions in the U.S., the UK, and Europe.

Students have a framework for university decisions before the application rush begins. They receive academic guidance and university admissions support, including help with degree choices, university selection, and long-term study planning.

A slice of Canada in the heart of Czechia

No plane ticket is required to get to the campus, just a connection to Prague’s public transport network, which takes students close to its location in Holešovice. Its central location gives it a practical edge over international schools based farther from the center, with parking also available for parent drop-offs.

The campus is located within a modern business center, giving students a more independent, city-based school environment. The setting may also feel closer to the kind of environment students will encounter at university.

“For nearly 20 years in education, we know that true success starts with a love of learning. When students are excited to come to school, feel inspired in the classroom, and respect their professors, they unlock their full potential. Our philosophy is: One team, one dream,” says Julia Grebenik, the school’s director.

Applications require students to complete an English-language examination at B1 level or higher. For Prague families whose teenagers are already looking beyond Czechia for university, the school offers a smart solution, where they can stay in Prague, study in English, finish after Grade 12, and prepare for international admissions with a Canadian diploma pathway.
