The roof is gabled with a masonry gable on the north side and a hipped section on the south. Documentation confirms the massive roof beams were cut after 1700. All timber was hand-shaped and repaired, bearing carpenter’s marks and authentic details over 300 years old. The building dominates a large garden with mature trees (lime, ash, poplar, walnut) and the remains of an original pond.
