The classic Czech comedy My Sweet Little Village (Vesničko má středisková) celebrated its 40th anniversary this weekend in Křečovice, the small village in Central Bohemia where it was filmed.

Directed by Jiří Menzel and written by Zdeněk Svěrák, the 1985 Oscar-nominated film combines warm humor with a tender portrayal of rural life, following the lovable Otík and his interactions with the village residents. The film can be streamed in the Czech Republic with English subtitles on Netflix.
