Czechia’s school year is already close to its halfway point, and schools around the country—pre-school, primary, secondary, and vocational—are preparing for their mid-year holidays and spring breaks.

Notably, though, spring holidays in Czechia vary in dates: a school’s region decides which exact week its spring holiday falls on. Importantly, schools in Prague also have varying spring holiday dates, depending on which part of the capital they’re in.

Here’s our handy guide to show when each region in Czechia has its spring break. Czechia's Ministry of Education site also lists the exact dates.

The mid-year holiday

Jan. 31

Firstly, Czechia’s one-day mid-year holiday applies to all schools nationwide. It takes place this week—Friday, Jan. 31—and gives all pupils one day off nationwide. Students traditionally receive their report cards on this day (vysvědčení).
