Prague passengers should allow extra time for journeys this week, with public transport switching to holiday schedules around the Oct. 28 national holiday and autumn school break.
On Wednesday, Oct. 28, Prague Integrated Transport services will follow Sunday timetables.
On Thursday, Oct. 29, and Friday, Oct. 30, all metro lines and most bus and trolleybus routes will run on reduced weekday schedules. Intervals will be slightly longer, particularly during the morning and afternoon rush hours.
Trams keep their regular Thursday and Friday schedules
Tram services will maintain their normal schedules Thursday and Friday; the reduced service applies to the metro and most bus and trolleybus lines.
ROPID, which coordinates Prague’s public transport, said the adjustments reflect an expected drop in passenger numbers during the holiday period.
School routes and designated school services will not operate Thursday or Friday. Some have already been suspended where schools granted additional days off on Oct. 26–27.
Check your departure before traveling
Passengers should check their specific connection rather than relying on their usual weekday departure time, especially when transferring between services.
Updated connections are available through the PID journey planner and the PID Lítačka mobile app.
