Oktoberfest in Prague 2026: 8 beer festivals to raise a glass this autumn

Oktoberfest season is getting underway, and you don't need to make the trip to Munich to join the festivities. Prague is tapping into the Bavarian tradition this autumn with German beer, hearty food, stein-holding contests, and plenty of opportunities to raise a glass.

But in a country with its own formidable beer culture, autumn drinking isn't limited to lederhosen and Märzen. Prague's calendar also features neighborhood beer celebrations, Czech microbrewery festivals, and one of the year's biggest international craft-beer gatherings.

From a five-day Oktoberfest in an industrial complex to beer beneath the towers of Strahov Monastery, here are eight Prague beer festivals to put on your calendar this September and October:

For one of Prague's most overtly Bavarian celebrations, head to Permanent Pragovka in Vysočany. The industrial arts complex will transform its Permanent Beer Fest area into a little slice of Munich for five days.

The free-entry festival promises a special selection of German Oktoberfest beers alongside German-inspired street food and Bavarian-style décor. Music adds to the atmosphere, while stein-holding contests, beer relays, and team challenges provide some suitably boisterous entertainment.

For a more Czech take on beer-festival season, the leafy grounds of Zámecký park in Dolní Počernice will host two days of beer, street food, and live entertainment at Počernické pivobraní.

The neighborhood festival runs Sept. 18–19 and combines beer with international street food and a program of music and entertainment, making it one of the more family-friendly options on the autumn beer calendar.

Nusle gets its own beer celebration on Sept. 19, when the seventh annual Nuselské pivní slavnosti takes over Park Na Fidlovačce. Smaller and larger microbreweries will pour their beers from 1 p.m., accompanied by food and a full afternoon of live music.

The musical program culminates with Czech singer Dán Bárta and Illustratosphere at 8 p.m. Entry to the festival is free.

Oktoberfest may be German, but Sept. 25 gives Czech beer its moment in the spotlight. Pivovar Ládví Cobolis hosts Dny českého piva, or Czech Beer Days, directly beside Ládví metro station.

The event brings together numerous microbreweries for a beer festival running throughout the afternoon and evening, complemented by food, guided brewery tours, and a battle of Prague 8 bands in which visitors help select the winner.

If you miss the first wave of September celebrations, Karlín keeps Oktoberfest going into October. Pivo Karlín will hold its own five-day Oktoberfest from Sept. 29 through Oct. 3.

The event is scheduled to run from 2–9 p.m. each day, giving workers in the surrounding Karlín offices an especially convenient opportunity for an after-work Oktoberfest beer.

One of Prague's most atmospheric beer festivals returns to Strahov Monastery Brewery on Oct. 3. The brewery's annual October Beer & Food Fest puts a Czech spin on Oktoberfest in the historic surroundings of Strahov Monastery, just steps from Prague Castle.

Last year's festival paired Strahov's own beers with visiting brews and food in the monastery courtyard. The brewery has confirmed the 2026 edition for Oct. 3, with this year's full program still to be announced.

Those seeking a more traditional community Oktoberfest can head south to Prague-Újezd, where the municipal district is staging its own celebration on Oct. 3.

The event at Nad Statkem is billed as an afternoon and evening celebration for both children and adults and runs from 2–10 p.m. It's a little farther from the center than most events on this list, but offers an alternative to the busier downtown beer festivities.

Prague's autumn beer season ends with its biggest event for serious craft-beer enthusiasts. Czech brewery Sibeeria celebrates its 10th anniversary by bringing more than 40 Czech and international breweries to Hall 13 at Prague Market in Holešovice for Sibeeria & Friends.

Across Oct. 30–31, participating breweries will pour more than 240 beers, ranging from lagers to more experimental styles. Breweries from across Europe and farther afield are represented, and smaller breweries also get dedicated space.

Unlike most events on this list, this one operates through ticketed tasting sessions. Each four-hour session includes unlimited tasting, while full-festival tickets cover up to 12 hours across both days. Tickets start at CZK 1,490 for Friday's session.
