Travel between northern Bohemia, Prague, Hradec Králové, Jeseníky, Opava, Ostrava, and Havířov has become easier with the launch of a new direct bus service in December.

The line, numbered 855, runs daily. On weekdays, it departs Teplice at 9:50, Prague Florenc at 11:20, and Hradec Králové at 13:25, arriving in Jeseník at 16:55, Opava at 18:15, and Havířov at 19:15.

Weekend departures leave roughly 30 minutes earlier. In the opposite direction, buses leave Havířov at 8:05, Jeseník at 10:20, Hradec Králové at 13:55, Prague Florenc at 15:40, and Teplice at 17:10.

Regional connections simplified

Previously, passengers travelling between northern Bohemia, the Jeseníky Mountains, and the Ostrava region often needed multiple transfers. The new service allows residents from Hradec Králové and surrounding areas to reach Silesia directly, and vice versa, reducing travel time and simplifying regional connections.

“This route connects smaller towns with cities that serve as major transfer hubs, with Prague and Ostrava as key points,” said Zdeněk Tesárek, commercial director of FlixBus CZ, in a press release. “By including these areas, we aim to make travel between regions more direct and convenient.”

The route is part of broader December timetable updates aimed at enhancing accessibility nationwide. On weekdays, travelers can plan trips that cover both northern and eastern regions without having to change buses multiple times, which was previously common for journeys to and from the Jeseníky Mountains and the Ostrava region.

The new service reduces travel time and allows passengers to move directly between northern Bohemia, Silesia, Prague, and Hradec Králové without transfers.

New long-haul route to London announced

In addition to the domestic updates, FlixBus has also launched a new direct international service between Prague and London. For the first time, travelers can reach the British capital from Prague Florenc. The daily route connects through major European hubs including Nuremberg, Frankfurt, Maastricht, Brussels, and Lille, before crossing the English Channel.

Buses depart from Prague Florenc daily at 10:50, arriving at London Victoria Coach Station the next morning at 09:10. In the opposite direction, the return trip leaves London at 23:00 local time and reaches Prague at 22:20. The journey includes a sea crossing using the ferry between Dieppe and Dover.
