As autumn evenings grow darker, Prague’s parks and waterfronts are about to glow again with large-scale light installations. From riverside walks to zoo trails and fantasy forests, four major outdoor exhibitions are opening between late October and early November, bringing interactive art, sound, and light to some of the city’s best-known sites.

These illuminated attractions combine technology and design to create experiences for all ages. They have quickly become a fixture in Prague’s winter calendar in recent years, offering residents a colorful reason to head outdoors long after sunset.

The popular riverside recreation area Žluté lázně will transform once again into a glowing realm of art and architecture. The fourth edition of Light Park Europe—titled Heart of Europe—guides visitors on a luminous journey through nine countries, from the Colosseum and Acropolis to the Tower Bridge and the ship Santa Maria.

The exhibition, designed and built in Czechia, highlights the continent’s cultural heritage through hundreds of installations combining light, sculpture, and sound. Visitors can even book an evening cruise on the Vltava for a unique view of the illuminated park and Prague’s skyline.

Organizers say the project aims to blend art, history, and technology into an outdoor cultural experience. “Žluté lázně offers a winter setting unlike any other,” said Jan Dell, executive director of Taiko, the site’s operator. “We invite everyone to enjoy the view and maybe something good along the way.”

At Letňany, Wonderland Prague mixes light art with amusement park rides and seasonal festivities. Through mid-November, the sprawling park turns into a Halloween village filled with pumpkins, cheerful ghosts, lantern parades, and workshops for children. After that, the attractions shift toward a winter fairy-tale theme, running through early January.

Hundreds of light sculptures bring animated worlds to life—from fairy-tale princesses and Madagascar animals to Pinocchio, Smurfs, and a talking dragon tree voiced by Czech actor Petr Nárožný. Teens and adults can try a massive VR zone with over 100 games, while younger visitors explore a “Dragon Trail” adventure path.

With unlimited access to rides and light installations included in the ticket, Wonderland promises a full evening of entertainment for families.

Following last year’s success, Garden of Lights returns to Prague Zoo with a new theme: Wild Asia. The exhibition transforms the zoo’s outdoor paths into a glowing expedition through rainforests, steppes, and mountains, featuring illuminated versions of tigers, elephants, and even the endangered Przewalski’s horse.

Visitors can activate sound and motion effects at interactive stations, making the animals roar, trumpet, or growl. Among the highlights are a 55-meter Sakura tunnel of pink cherry blossoms, a cascading waterfall of light, and an illuminated field of flowers synchronized to music.

“The Garden of Lights connects art, technology, and education,” said zoo spokesperson Filip Mašek. “It’s an evening experience that also reminds visitors about the beauty and fragility of wildlife.”

In Prague 6, Lumina Park returns with a new edition called Adventure of Lights, set around the Džbán swimming area. This year’s route takes visitors through themed worlds inspired by legends, fairy tales, and pop culture—from Dracula’s Transylvania and Narnia to Robin Hood’s Sherwood Forest and King Arthur’s Camelot.

Each zone uses light, sound, and storytelling to create an immersive atmosphere, while playful details like a Friends-style photo sofa or a “Fast & Furious” scene add modern twists. A “Christmas Corner” offers warm drinks and photo spots for families and couples.

Organizers describe the experience as “an interactive journey through fantasy, designed for children, families, and friends seeking an evening escape.”
