Open in 2008, the DOX Center for Contemporary Art celebrates “entering its second decade of life” in 2019. An open day is planned for late January to commemorate the anniversary.

DOX 10 will offer, in addition to exhibitions, guided tours, family workshops, a special children’s corner, workshops, plus an evening program with DJs, snacks, and more.

Entrance to the open house, which kicks off Saturday, January 26 from 10 am and runs till 8 pm, is free. For a full schedule of events see here.

The DOX Centre for Contemporary Art is a multi-functional space housed in a former factory in Prague’s Holešovice district.

In December 2016 the museum opened its Gulliver Airship, a steel-and-wood colossus located on its roof that is currently a space for public talks and lectures at the museum. In 2018 a multifunction theater and concert hall was opened on its premises.

Architect Ivan Kroupa’s building project was nominated for the Mies van der Rohe Award and in 2010 the Phaidon Atlas of World Architecture included it on their list of the most interesting buildings of the decade.

Current exhibits include Hard Times, an interactive installation which allows visitors to work out while grappling with the issues facing the world and features punching bags with pictures of world leaders, Putin and Trump included.
