Danish-Japanese restaurant group Sticks’n’Sushi has opened its first Czech location on Jungmannovo náměstí in central Prague, adding the capital to its international network.
The restaurant occupies three floors of the 19th-century Ehlen House at Jungmannovo náměstí 767/6. Its menu combines sushi and sashimi with Japanese grilled skewers, alongside sake, cocktails and plant-based options.

The opening marks the group’s entry into a fourth country, following its expansion across Denmark, the United Kingdom and Germany.
Sushi shares the menu with grilled dishes
The restaurant’s name reflects its two main offerings: sushi and kushiyaki, skewered dishes prepared on a Japanese robata grill.
Customers can order individual dishes or sharing menus combining starters, sushi and grilled items. Options include beef tataki with miso aïoli and truffle ponzu, soft-shell crab rolls and seared yellowfin tuna with garlic butter and Parmesan.
A build-your-own hand-roll selection, Temaki Setto, includes lobster, wagyu tartare and avocado.
Grilled dishes range from miso-marinated black cod to chicken wings with garlic, ginger and tamari. Plant-based choices include a sweet potato skewer with coriander shoots, sesame-soy sauce and teriyaki.
Set menus include a plant-based selection called Greenkeeper, while children have a separate choice of bento boxes. Takeaway is also available.
The drinks menu includes sake, Japanese teas, beer and alcoholic and nonalcoholic cocktails. Among the signature drinks are a yuzu sake spritz and a wasabi variation on a Bloody Mary.
Historic building gets a Scandinavian-Japanese interior
The Prague space combines Japanese and Scandinavian design influences with contributions from Czech designers, according to the company’s opening announcement.
The design team includes Diener & Diener, architect Radim Hubička and interior designer Susan Palanki.
Colors drawn from the surrounding square and curved forms inspired by the building’s windows run through the interior. Oak finishes, rounded seating and statement lighting feature throughout.
An open kitchen, grill and bar occupy the ground floor, with additional seating upstairs. The basement contains a private dining room for 20 guests and an open preparation kitchen.
Sticks’n’Sushi was founded in Copenhagen in 1994 by brothers Jens and Kim Rahbek, who have Danish and Japanese roots, together with Thor Andersen. Its network grew to 34 restaurants in Denmark, the UK and Germany before the Czech opening.
The Prague restaurant is at Jungmannovo náměstí 767/6, Prague 1. Menus and further visitor information are available through its Czech website.
