The Czech Chamber of Deputies’ foreign affairs committee praised U.S. President Donald Trump’s efforts to end the war in Ukraine while preserving Ukrainian statehood. The motion, led by chair Radek Vondráček, also called for strengthened U.S.–Czech ties. Members rejected proposals supporting Ukraine’s defense and the Czech ammunition initiative. 2️⃣ Czechia to debut nationwide Michelin selection
The MICHELIN Guide will release its first countrywide Czech edition in December 2025, marking Czechia’s entry into Europe’s top culinary ranks. Inspectors are evaluating venues across all regions, from fine dining to traditional local restaurants. CzechTourism says the guide will enhance the nation’s image as a gastronomic destination. The three-year partnership includes digital content, campaigns and a promotional video.
3️⃣ Fog and inversions to dominate Czech weather
Fog and persistent low clouds will blanket much of Czechia in the coming days as a high-pressure system brings inversion weather. While lowlands face drizzle and grey skies, mountain areas are expected to see sunshine and warmer temperatures. Highs will reach 3°C to 11°C heading into the weekend. A weak front Sunday may bring light rain before inversions return next week.

The EU has postponed the ETS 2 emissions trading system to 2028 under a deal requiring a 90% emissions cut by 2040. Czech officials welcomed the delay, saying it spares households immediate cost impacts. Incoming PM Andrej Babiš called the move insufficient, vowing to seek a full withdrawal. Analysts warned energy prices will still rise once ETS 2 begins, urging households to use the extra year to prepare.
5️⃣ Czech amateur theater added to UNESCO list
UNESCO has added Czech amateur theatre to its Intangible Cultural Heritage list, recognizing a 200-year-old tradition practiced by more than 100,000 people.
