The International Montessori School in Prague, a small, community-based private Montessori school in Prague 4, is seeking a reliable, friendly, and organized individual for the position of teacher’s assistant in our toddler class (ages 15 months to 3 years).

We are an AMS-accredited Montessori school with 120 students, focused on providing a high-quality English-language curriculum with a Czech component. We inspire children aged 15 months to 12 years and are proud to offer a stimulating environment focused on growth for both students and teachers.

We are looking for a team member who is willing to work with children, demonstrates initiative, has a compassionate and cheerful nature, and is motivated by a love for children and authentic Montessori education. We are seeking a candidate who fosters children’s love of learning and practical self-care skills and is able to dedicate themselves to the children and teamwork in a well-organized school.

Requirements:

  • Love for working with toddler aged children, love for their challenging but rewarding nature.

  • A passion for learning: curiosity and enthusiasm for understanding the development and needs of this age group according to the Montessori method.

  • A high school education in a related field (education, social work, psychology, etc.) and previous experience working with children and other teaching experience are advanateges.

  • A communicative and flexible employee, reliable and self-motivated.

  • English and Czech fluency: one at C2, other at least at the B2 or C1 level.

  • Legal eligibility to reside and work in the Czech Republic.

    Previous experience with Montessori is welcome but not required. However, we require an open and respectful approach toward children and our educational model, as well as a willingness to learn Montessori practices and develop professionally on the job.

Job duties and tasks involve:

  • Assist in the classroom during the day: supporting the teachers in classroom management, working with children individually and in small groups, encouraging and guiding activity and peer interactions; supporting transitions and non-academic activities; managing classroom tasks (cleaning, organizing, paperwork).

  • Making/creating customized lessons and activities as guided by the teacher.

  • Oversee the Toddler After School Program, including planning activities and games, arts and crafts and outside play.

  • Communicate with parents as needed.

  • Actively participate in events, activities, field trips, etc. organized by the School.
