Eternal Search for Water Where There Is None by Vladimir 518

Rapper-turned-visual-artist Vladimir 518, known for his work on the documentary film "Architektura ČSSR 58–89," is now exploring the human condition using water as a metaphor for fulfilment, and its absence as existential drift. At this exhibition, one wall presents a dense three-layer block where images bleed into each other in continuous flow; the opposite features isolated works on paper. A guided tour will run March 25.

Spectaculare Festival: Thylacine

French producer Thylacine (William Rezé) brings his live show to Lucerna Music Bar for the opening weekend of Spectaculare Festival, accompanied by pianist Bravin Karunanithy for a set that bridges club sound with sonic travelogue. Each project carries the atmosphere of a specific place, with his debut album Transsiberian composed crossing Siberia and latest single "Shark Island" featuring Namibian Nama people's choir recorded at a WWI concentration camp site. His progressive electronics draw comparisons to Massive Attack, Four Tet, and minimalist composers Steve Reich and Philip Glass.

BEST SEATS

RIE (Rest In Euphoria)

Cirk La Putyka will close out its acclaimed cabaret after a 34-performance run; it's your last chance to see 18 acrobats (half from abroad) perform disciplines rarely seen in Czech Republic. Director Rostislav Novák mines Czech cabaret history and modern spectacles to create 80 minutes where "you can forget about everyday worries, the existence of time and space." The production sparked controversy after its December 2023 premiere for its celebration of "the purity of the human body"—so expect full-frontal acrobatics.
