What the Czech Republic watched in 2020, according to Netflix

Netflix has revealed the genres and shows people were glued to in a year when most of us were stuck inside!

Comedies, dramas, and action films were the most-watched genres across the Czech Republic on Netflix.

The company has released the list of what people have been watching in the country, with fantasy having the biggest increase, with sixteen times as much viewing of the genre as in 2019.

The series Lock and Key as well as Cursed and Letter to the King were among the most viewed in that category.

The second biggest jump was recorded in the genre of romantic films. Interest in romance on Netflix increased ninefold compared to last year for a Czech-based audience.

In the most popular categories of comedy, drama and action shows such as The Crown, Sex Education, and Umbrella Academy received high viewership.

They also reported a rise in the consumption of reality TV from June, with shows including Love is Blind and Too Hot To Handle leading the genre to an eight-fold increase in viewership.
