After several extensions, the Czech Press Photo 2021 exhibit at the Historical Building of the National Museum ends on July 31. The winning photo showed the destruction of a tornado in Moravia.
One of the venues of the Matter of Art exhibition is a bit hidden, in a disused hospital building accessible from the Faust House on Karlovo náměstí. Works from 11 artists are being exhibited in the rather dystopian space of the former hospital laundry. Entry is free. The show runs to Oct. 23.

Prosecco v Parku opens up the area behind Portheimka on July 29–31 for picnics. People can rent blankets on the spot, and lots of food will be available. A special branded glass is required for buying wine at the event.
The American Street Food festival at Smíchovská náplavka on July 30 covers more than burgers, hot dogs, wings, and BBQ. There should also be Canadian poutine, Mexican tacos, Argentine empanadas, and other dishes from North and South America.
Out at the eastern edge of Prague at Chvalský zámek on July 31 you can find the Počernice Street Food Festival. The offerings should cover Czech and international cuisine plus beer, wine, and sweets.
This weekend's edition of the Bubbles by the Pool at Manifesto Anděl on July 30 has music from Petr & Farhia in the evening.
Wine and cheese, swing and chanson, plus the setting sun. It must be France on the Roof of Lucerna. The event runs until July 31.

Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard star in Annette, which has a free screening at Kasárna Karlín on July 29. French director Leos Carax made his English-language debut with this musical tale of a stand-up comic and opera star whose lives are changed by the arrival of a child. The child is portrayed by a puppet in the film.
The Coen Brothers' cult comedy The Big Lebowski bowls into Gabrielle Loci on July 31. Jeff Bridges gives a memorable performance as the Dude. John Goodman is also in fine form.
Quentin Tarantino's action film Kill Bill cuts up the screen at Kasárna Karlín on July 30. Uma Thurman stars as a woman who wakes up from a coma and wants revenge. Tickets are available online and at the door.

Post-punk band the Afghan Whigs will play at Lucerna Music Bar on July 29. It's the band's first European tour in five years. Frontman Greg Dulli and bassist John Curley appear from the original lineup.
The 10th edition of the Czech Ukelele Festival strums into life at Únětice brewery on July 29 and 30. Emphasis will be on a positive mood to help people after the tough past two years. Both days are filled with performances from local and international acts, and there will also be workshops. Friday is more informal, with an open mic and jam sessions. Saturday has workshops and concerts.
Out-of-town festivals this week include Benátská!, which is headlined by Czech and Slovak bands such as Pavol Habera & Team, Arakain, Chinaski, Divokej Bill, and Olympic. It takes place from July 28 to 31 in Liberec.

A Colombian Party will occur at (A)void Floating Gallery on July 30. The Colombian group La Parranda will provide the music, and there will also be food and drink typical of the country.
Want to see some classic Shakespeare, but not sure you want to commit all that time?Prague Shakespeare Company is offering a special "short Shakespeare” adaptation of Pericles. The tale of loss and reconciliation unfolds at Divadlo Bez Zabradli on July 29.
American comedian April Macie will be at Hotel Fitzgerald on July 30. She can currently be seen on "Tiffany Haddish Presents: They Ready" on Netflix, and has made many other TV appearances.

Purchase art directly from the artists at Summer ArtBazaar in Pragovka on July 30. Pieces from artists who work at Pragovka, a former factory that is now an art colony, plus items from some other artists will be available.
The summer holiday edition of Dyzajn market is back at náměstí Václava Havla on July 30 and 31. You can find all manner of items, from clothing and accessories to toys and household goods, from Czech designers and makers. There will also of course be designer refreshments.
One person's trash is another person's treasure. Search for something you need at the flea market at Řezáčově náměstí on July 30. Organizers point out that reusing old items instead of buying new ones is good for the environment and promotes sustainability.

Historic Art-Deco style Electra and Spartan planes will fly over Prague along the Vltava and over Holešovice and Žižkov at 11 a.m. on July 29 as part of an aviation meetup at Točná Airport in Prague 12. The airport will have an open house on July 30. The Lockheed Electra is the type of plane that Amelia Earhart flew on her final trip.
The ICF Canoe Slalom World Ranking Race takes place at Troja on July 30 and 31. See some of the best in their sport and hear professional commentary, and also visit the relax zone for side events.
The square in from of the Rudolfinum, Náměstí Jana Palacha, will be transformed into a basketball court on July 30 and 31 for the Fiba 3x3 Prague Masters. Group matches are on Saturday, while individual competitions and medal games are on Sunday.
DDD is Dětský Den v DOXu – children's day at DOX, on July 30. There will be workshops and performances related to several of the exhibits, and Ukrainian families are also invited. The event is geared toward people with some basic Czech (or Ukrainian) language skills.
