After two quiet years, summer music festivals are back across the Czech Republic. There is something for almost everyone, with stars from pop, rock, EDM, and heavy metal making appearances.

One of the main out-of-town festivals, Rock for People, is almost sold out so if you want to see Green Day or Weezer you need to buy tickets soon. The headliners at Colours of Ostrava, the other main festival, are The Killers and Twenty One Pilots, with many others also gracing the multiple stages of a former ironworks.

This year’s Czech Eurovision entry, We Are Domi, is flying in almost under the radar to play at the relatively small Přeštěnice festival in late June. Electronic dance music fans will want to catch Beats for Love in early July in Ostrava, which has Armin van Buuren doing his thing.

For classic metal fans, there’s Judas Priest at Masters of Rock in July. Original Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley is also appearing there. (The current lineup of Kiss will be at O2 Arena on July 13 for what they promise is a final tour.)

Prague’s big event is the Metronome festival on June 23–25, with Beck finally making it here. He was scheduled for the canceled 2020 and 2021 editions. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds has also joined the lineup.

For people who want to rock a little harder, a one-day Prague Rocks festival at Letiště Letňany has Metallica and Five Finger Death Punch.

And these are just the outdoor festivals. There are more bands coming to Prague for individual concerts, which can be found in our concert roundup.
