A play that gives voice to one of the most silent characters in history: Anne Hathaway,  the wife of William Shakespeare. By looking through the eyes and heart of the woman who spent a lifetime with, and without, the great writer – this work is the celebration of a life unbowed by tragedy and unapologetic in the face of public scorn. An intimate and imaginative portrayal of the unsung hero in Shakespeare’s life, who, despite abandonment, struggles to keep faith in her husband and the vows they made whilst he becomes the world´s greatest poet.

Vern Thiessen  received The Governor  General´s Literary Award, Canada´s highest honour for playwriting,  in 2003. His plays including Einstein´s Gift; and The Resurrection Of John Frum have been performed across Canada, the US and Europe.
