Moored across from the Rudolfinum and just a few blocks from Old Town Square, Marina Ristorante blends easily into the riverfront. It’s the kind of place you’ve likely passed without much thought, which makes stepping on board for the first time feel like a delicious discovery. The payoff comes quickly: sweeping views of the city and a menu that invites you to stay longer than planned.

For 12 years, Marina Ristorante has brought the true taste of Italy to the banks of the Vltava in central Prague. Its kitchen is supplied with the freshest ingredients directly from Italian producers. Quality and an honest approach to the craft of cooking are central here, and can be felt in every bite and aroma.

The setting does much of the initial work. Glass walls frame the Vltava, pulling in views of Prague’s bridges, embankments, and passing boats. Inside, the dining area remains understated, light wood, clean lines, and an open layout that keeps sightlines clear even when the room is full. In warmer months, the terrace becomes the obvious draw, with the city unfolding on both sides of the water.

Seasonality plays a large role in the construction of the menu. Dishes like salmon slices marinated in vodka with orange in port wine, or grilled Iberian pork chop with parsley purée, young zucchini and carrots, are available when ingredients are at their peak, and for a limited time.

“Every month on the calendar has its own character," says Marina Ristorante head chef Petr Topol. "We prepare the menu with respect for Italian culinary traditions and seasonal ingredients.

The kitchen leans into a straightforward take on Italian cuisine, built around seafood, handmade pasta, pizza, and classic antipasti. Dishes are clean and balanced, with an emphasis on flavor. Linguine alle vongole arrives with restraint, while grilled fish is handled simply, letting the ingredients speak for themselves.

The wine list follows the same logic, focused on Italian regions alongside familiar labels that make ordering easy across different tastes and table sizes. Aperitifs ease the start of the evening, stretching conversations, while desserts like tiramisu and panna cotta keep things comfortably familiar.

The space adapts seamlessly. Couples and smaller tables settle in early, while larger groups, including corporate dinners and private events, take advantage of separate sections and private rooms that allow the energy to build without overwhelming the room. Service is paced to accommodate conversation rather than interrupt it.

This measured approach is what has given Marina Ristorante its staying power. It doesn’t try to be kitsch like so many other spots dotting the Old Town tourist circuit. Instead, it focuses on getting the essentials right, leaving the rest to the stately river views and casual atmosphere.
