Rock for People, one of the Czech Republic’s biggest music festivals, celebrated its 30th anniversary in Hradec Králové with a historic five-day format. Drawing crowds of over 50,000 and featuring over 1,000 artists, the festival featured famous rock bands like Guns N’ Roses, Slipknot, and Avenged Sevenfold.

Guns N’ Roses headlined with a three-hour show, featuring hits like Welcome to the Jungle and Sweet Child O' Mine.

Linkin Park also featured, returning to Czechia with new vocalist Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain. The band played tracks from their 2024 album From Zero, along with classic hits like Numb, Faint, and Crawling. Their emotional comeback follows a long hiatus after Chester Bennington’s 2017 death.

FIRST-HAND ACCOUNT

Expats.cz attended the festival, with practical insight into the event and advice for anyone thinking about going in the future.

The festival was well-organized, with full passes selling out well in advance, underscoring the need for early ticket purchases. The venue at Park 360 offered a wide range of accommodations, from budget camping to luxury glamping and centrally located hotels. We found the event punctual, clean (thanks to extensive waste-sorting throughout), and spacious.

The cashless payment system enhanced overall convenience, paired with a diverse food (from fast-food options to proper dining zones serving traditional Czech dishes) and selection that included ample vegan and vegetarian options. An on-site brewery featured a range of beers: Czech and international.

The innovative NFCtron app allowed you to register your chip to keep track of your balance and receive your unused money refunded after the festival. An on-site Tesco increased the food offerings while keeping pricing low.
