From high-speed rail to the upcoming Metro D, Prague’s transport network is legendary, and it affects everyone who calls the city home. What does the future hold, and how will new infrastructure shape the city’s growth and quality of life?

As the exhibit Prague Tomorrow? Connected City comes to a close at CAMP (Center for Architecture and Urban Planning), we’re offering a free guided tour with Marek Zděradička, Director of the Infrastructure Section and Deputy Director for Professional Activities at IPR Prague.

Around the world, rail transit is experiencing a renaissance – as it becomes a more sustainable and efficient form of travel. Prague is also keeping pace with this trend. Tens of kilometres of new lines and tunnels for trains, metro cars, and trams will be built in the coming years.

How will these changes affect everyday life? Which parts of the city will they connect, and how will they improve travel within the Czech Republic and Europe as a whole? What new opportunities will investment in the transport infrastructure bring? And can new railways also mean a new city?

What is CAMP?

Come get to know CAMP. Located in the historic Karel Prague ‘Cubes,’ the center hosts regular exhibitions on the changing face of the city’s buildings and neighborhoods, and on other various topics related to world architecture, urbanism and design, complemented by film screenings, interesting lectures and discussions with both foreign and Czech experts, creative workshops for children, a café, library, and a co-working space.

Mr. Zděradička will guide us through the exhibition and answer your questions about the future of travel in Czechia. The tour will conclude with a mini-quiz and a chance to win exclusive CAMP merchandise.

After the tour, the Expats.cz editorial team will be on hand to hear directly from you. We want to know what issues matter most to Prague’s English-speaking community and how we can better cover local developments in urban planning, transport, and city life.

We're looking forward to meeting you!
