Czechia set for sunny, dry week with temperatures reaching 25°C

Czechia can expect a full week of clear, dry weather, with daytime temperatures reaching a summery 25 degrees Celsius, according to the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute.

Forecasters expect the current spell of Indian summer weather, known in Czech as babí léto, to last at least through next weekend. No significant rainfall is forecast, although gusty winds could affect some regions.

“Indian summer will continue at least until next weekend,” meteorologists said.

Tuesday is forecast to be the warmest day of the week, with afternoon highs around 25 degrees Celsius. Temperatures will remain unusually warm for the start of October throughout the working week.

Fog should become increasingly rare as the layer of air near the ground gradually dries out.

Fresh winds are expected primarily in the Czech-Moravian Highlands and northern Bohemia, potentially making otherwise warm temperatures feel slightly cooler.

A gradual cooling trend should begin over the weekend, accompanied by increasing cloud cover. Forecasters do not expect a dramatic change, however, and the stable, dry weather is likely to continue.

No rain is currently forecast even at the beginning of the second week of October.

The period from Sept. 28 to Oct. 25 is expected to bring average to above-average temperatures and below-average rainfall.

This week should be the warmest of the four-week period. The following two weeks are forecast to remain close to or slightly above seasonal averages.

The final week of the forecast period is expected to be the coolest, with nighttime lows around 3 degrees Celsius and daytime highs of approximately 12 degrees.

Weekly rainfall totals are generally expected to remain below five millimeters. The wettest period could come between Oct. 12 and 18, when approximately 10 millimeters may fall.

Weather fronts approaching Central Europe from the Atlantic are expected to weaken before reaching Czechia, limiting the likelihood of prolonged rain.
