Wallachian folklore reimagined|Czech painter Jan Vytiska's works in the last three years are the subject of the exhibition The Ritual of Cursed Hearts, which opens on April 13 and is on display until Sep. 10 at DOX. While Vytiska's themes are a "distinctive mix of Wallachian folklore and pop culture references," his recent works document his constant experimentation with format and atmosphere.

Fantastic landscapes|Czech painter Denisa Štefanigová's show Ecstasy is at the Světova 1 gallery until May 13. The fantastic creatures depicted in her canvases are "linked to questions about hierarchies between different species, expressions of sexuality, and stages of social normativity."

Chart-topping rapper|British rapper Russ Millions performs at Lucerna Music Bar on April 10. The drill artist had several chart-topping singles in the UK, including a collaboration with Tion Wayne whose remix by Bugzy Malone, ArrDee, and Fivio Foreign went viral.

Folk and pop| Ukrainian singer Alina Pash plays at Café V lese on April 11. The artist, whose music combines folk influences from native Ukraine with a pop sound, played at international festivals such as Burning Man, Mad Cool, and Sziget, and also won the national selection for Eurovision.

Cross-cultural jazz|New York jazzman Oran Etkin & Band play at Jazz Dock on April 14. A Grammy-award winner, Etkin combines into his jazz the sounds of his native Israel with influences from Africa, the Far East, and Europe. An improvised ensemble of prominent Czech and Slovak musicians will accompany him for this performance.

Czech comedy|For an evening of laughs, watch Saturnin on April 12 at Kino Aero. A showcase of British charm with Czech proverbs mixed in, the movie focuses on gentleman Jiří and his witty servant Saturnin. The movie is part of the Some Like It Czech series, which shows movies with English subtitles and an introduction "ensuring that nothing is lost in translation."

Metallica in cinema|Experience Metallica: 72 Season Global Premiere at Kino Aero on April 13, the day before the official release of the iconic band's new album 72 Seasons. In addition to music videos for each track on the new album, the movie features interviews with members of Metallica, plus the creation and story behind the record.

Amadeus at 40|Celebrate 40 years since the release of Miloš Forman's masterpiece Amadeus at DOX with a screening on April 14, accompanied by a behind-the-scenes peek. The story tells the story of composer Antonio Salieri, who plotted the downfall of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart out of envy for the latter's musical genius.

Vampire love story|An adaptation of John Ajvide Lindqvist's cult modern-day vampire novel, Let the Right One In is coming close to the end of its run. The performance (with English subtitles) at Švandovo divadlo na Smíchově on April 13 is the last but one before the curtain falls for good on the current production. The same story has been adapted into two films, a Swedish plus an English-language remake.

Pop culture festival|Put on your best cosplay costume and head to this year's edition of the Prague Comic-Con, which takes place between April 14 and 16 at O2 Universum. For its fourth edition, the Prague Comic-Con will feature famous actors Danny Glover and Brian Cox among the guests, and programs dedicated to Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Star Trek, Star Wars, Red Dwarf, manga, anime, and many others.
