Prague, April 4 (CTK) – The Czech Republic has 4194 confirmed coronavirus cases, including 332 new ones on Friday, which is highest daily rise since March 27, according to updated information on the Health Ministry’s website.

The ministry has recorded 56 deaths and 74 recoveries of coronavirus patients the country. Three people have died since Friday evening and two have recovered.

On Friday, 6,889 coronavirus tests were carried out in the country, which has been the highest number since the testing started.

Of the country’s 14 regions, Prague has both the highest case number (1,118) and the highest relative number (82 cases per 100,000 inhabitants).

The testing has revealed 508 infected people in Central Bohemia, which is the region around the capital city and 380 in the Olomouc Region. These two regions have 37 and 60 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, respectively.

In the Karlovy Vary Region, the relative number of COVID-19 cases is 48 per 100,000 inhabitants.

The number of people who tested positive in the Czech Republic decreased on Wednesday (281) and Thursday (269), but on Friday it increased (332). Four people tested positive this morning.

There are 380 patients who contracted coronavirus in hospitals across the country, including 87 with severe illness. The Health Ministry registers 173 patients who either recovered or were released from hospital to stay at home in quarantine.
