Where to get tested for COVID-19 in Prague: updated list for September 14

If you get sent for COVID-19 testing after consultation with your doctor or health officials, or just want to take a test on your own, there are now around 20 COVID testing facilities in Prague to choose from. We’ve compiled the below list to help choose which location is right for you.

Not all facilities are open all the time, however, and some have windows as limited as two hours. Most allow advance booking online or via phone.

Choose your location carefully, if at all possible: according to the Czech Health Ministry, the capacity at Na Bulovka Hospital (1,000 tests) is exhausted every day, while the Wenceslas Square center is only operating at half capacity. There have also been reports of hours-long queues and clients turned away at the Prague Airport testing point.

The city of Prague is planning to release a live map that will show which testing points are most crowded, using data from street cameras; currently, the city recommends getting tested at the Žluté lázně or Wenceslas Square locations.

There are also two new planned testing stations at Vítězné náměstí and at the Džbán swimming pool that should open in the immediate future.

Note: some locations, including the Prague Airport location, only process samples from those who request a test and pay for it themselves (“self-payers”). Other locations process both these clients and those sent for testing by a doctor or health authorities after initial consultation, in which case the test may be covered by insurance. Distinctions are noted in the below list.

Drive-in collection, where samples are collected without leaving your car, is also possible at some locations, including University Hospital Vinohrady and the Veleslavín Chateau sampling point in Prague 6.
