Harry Potter fans in the Czech Republic will no longer need to travel to London or Los Angeles to experience the Wizarding World. The official touring event, Harry Potter: The Exhibition, is confirmed to arrive in Prague this summer, transforming the PVA Expo Praha in Letňany into a massive interactive installation.

The exhibition, which has already seen successful runs in cities like Munich and Vienna, is scheduled to open its doors to the Czech public on Aug. 15, 2026, Czech Crunch reports. Organizers have confirmed that the experience will be fully translated into Czech, making it accessible to local families and younger fans.

"The exhibition will offer several thematic galleries featuring original costumes and props used during the filming of the series," digital marketing specialist Karolína Šramlová, who was among the first to report the news, noted on social media. She added that while the exact duration of the stay is still being finalized, more details regarding ticket sales are expected shortly.

The Letňany installation is designed as an experiential journey rather than a static museum. Upon entry, visitors receive a chip-enabled RFID bracelet that allows them to personalize their visit. This technology tracks individual progress as guests choose their Hogwarts house, select a wand, and earn points for their "house cup" by completing interactive tasks.

The displays include authentic items from the original film sets, as well as the Fantastic Beasts spin-off and the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child stage play. Interactive stations will allow visitors to brew digital potions, practice their Quidditch skills by throwing Quaffles, and sit in a recreation of Hagrid's giant armchair.

Prague’s selection as a host city follows a significant turnout for the exhibition in nearby Dresden and Budapest. The move to the Letňany exhibition center provides the necessary 2,000 to 4,000 square meters required for the high-tech setup.

Official ticket sales are expected to begin through the Harry Potter Fan Club and major Czech ticket portals in the coming weeks. Local organizers recommend early registration, as previous European stops have seen opening month slots sell out almost immediately.

Cultural legacy

Since the first Czech edition of Harry Potter a Kámen mudrců was published in 2000, it has become one of the country’s most enduring translated favorites, with more than three million copies of the first volume sold domestically.

The series as a whole has continued to perform strongly in the Czech market, with later titles and related works (such as the Czech edition of Harry Potter a prokleté dítě) also selling in the tens of thousands.

The Czech translations by Vladimír Medek and his brother Pavel are particularly celebrated for their inventive localized names, including Bradavice for Hogwarts and famfrpál for Quidditch, choices that have helped the series become deeply embedded in Czech pop culture.
