How many trivia nights are there in Prague each week? The exact number is impossible to pin down, but it’s a lot. In nearly every corner of the city, especially neighborhoods where the expat wave crests, quizmasters gather groups weekly to test their wits across multiple rounds of questions and challenges for prizes, bragging rights, and heaping dollops of fun.
While each varies on the fine details, the core elements remain largely consistent. Contestants compete in teams of about six to eight (but there’s always room for solo flyers), and questions are delivered in multiple rounds over 2-3 hours. Answers written down on paper and then passed to another team to check and score.
Entry fee is almost always CZK 100, and quizzes usually get underway between 6:30 and 7:30 pm. Nevertheless, double check the location’s website and social pages for exact details, as dates can shift. It’s also a good idea to reserve your spot ahead of time, as most trivia nights are booked solid.
Those ready to test their knowledge while meeting new people in Prague can start here:
Third Coast Pizza
In the American parlance, the “third coast” covers the Great Lakes, where Detroit sits at the juncture of Erie and Huron. It’s a fitting name for this Žižkov eatery, which serves Detroit-style pizzas in rectangle slabs of focaccia-like dough slathered with industrial amounts of sauce and cheese.
Each Wednesday, the toppings include mixed-category trivia for four to 10 teams of up to six people. Topics run eclectic here, including tin foil hat conspiracies, grave robbing history and weird laws. Not surprisingly, prizes include pizza and beer.
