Electronic Beats Meet Visual Art in Prague This Friday

Lunchmeat Festival combines top electronic musicians and new media artists from around the world for an unforgettable experience

More than 15 international projects combining electronic music and visual art will come to Prague this Friday as part of this year’s Lunchmeat Festival, one of the biggest events of its kind in the Czech Republic.

This year’s festival, which hits this Friday, October 14, promises to be bigger and better than ever before with a change of location to (appropriately enough) the former location of Prague’s Electric Utility corporation in Holešovice.

“Thanks to a larger and more diverse location, we can create even richer and more coherent program than previously,” said Festival dramaturgist Jakub Pešek in a press release.

“We have invited artists who walk the line between genres or who create new ones. We want to introduce them to the Czech audience and remind them that today’s club scene is very diverse.”

Acts at this year’s fest will include Dutch producer Legowelt, who will perform to a show prepared by Hungarian studio Blurboyz, and the futuristic beats of Amnesia Scanner, who have prepared a show specifically for the Prague location.

Eclectic US techno producer Silas Servant will mix to visuals by local artists Světlonoš, Urbi et Orbi and Vojtěch Kálecký, while Swedish duo SHXCXCHCXSH will perform to 16mm celluloid arranged by filmmaker Pedro Maia.

Other acts at this year’s fest will include performances from Japan, Scandinavia, and Manchester, and a 3-hour closing set by Berlin-based DJ Objekt. Check out the full lineup here.

Tickets to Friday’s festival can be purchased for 750 CZK in advance online or 850 CZK at the door.
