Czech-Designed 3D Heart Is Revolutionizing Classroom Learning

The visualization software, being called groundbreaking, has gained popularity in Czech schools and around the world

A Brno based start-up is experiencing worldwide success with its educational software containing thousands of 3D models of animate and inanimate nature.

Developed with help from experts at Charles University, the first version of the Corinth Education program contained a few dozen simulations.

Teachers can now choose from thousands of models in ten STEM categories from paleontology to biology.

The models can be seen from all sides, allowing students and teachers to rotate computer-screen or tablet visuals with the tap of a finger.

Prague science teacher Lenka Vašátková recently told HN that via the eye, heart, and ear models, “We can show [students] what a static model could never reach…a realistic simulation of how it works in the human body.”

The project was developed by Daniel Sklář, one of the creators of the iconic computer game Mafia, and designer Ondřej Homola.

The software was recently presented at the CEE Innovators Summit in Warsaw, Poland, a congress for startups and NGOs focused on innovation.

While the product has only been on the market for two years, it is already used to teach in more than 100 countries throughout the world.

“Within two or three years we want to be around in a thousand schools,” said company representative Luděk Altmann.

The software is enhanced with an augmented reality app called Lifeliqe.
