Czechia will send its Ambassador to the United States Miloslav Stašek and Government National Security Advisor Tomáš Pojar to represent the country at the inauguration of U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday, Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Daniel Drake confirmed on Friday.

The ceremony, considered a domestic political event in the U.S., traditionally sees foreign nations represented by their ambassadors. Czech government spokeswoman Lucie Jesátková confirmed that Stašek received an official invitation from the presidential administration.

Other Czech attendees include prominent figures such as Chamber of Commerce President Zdeněk Zajíček, who will attend on the invitation of Texas Congressman Lloyd Doggett, a member of the Congressional Czech Republic Caucus.

Broader Czech representation at the event

The inauguration will also see participation from members of the Czech political and business community. ANO MEPs Klára Dostálová and Ondřej Knotek will be present, as confirmed by ANO spokesman Martin Vodíčka.

Filip Turek, an MEP aligned with the Patriots for Europe group, and Petr Macinka, leader of the Motorists political party, are also part of the Czech delegation. Robert Šlachta, leader of the extra-parliamentary party Oath, will also attend the event. These delegations underscore Czechia’s continued interest in strengthening ties with the United States.

Czech representatives will join a broad array of attendees, including former American presidents, members of Congress, tech executives, and European right-wing politicians, such as former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Alternative for Germany co-chair Tino Chrupalla.

Media coverage and Czech interest

The inauguration will attract significant media attention in Czechia, with all major national broadcasters—Czech Television, Prima, and Nova—providing live coverage from Monday afternoon. Reporters from these outlets have already been dispatched to Washington to cover the ceremony and its implications.
