Beerbike Debuts in Prague and Brno

Up to sixteen drinkers can pedal through city streets on the popular tourist attraction, now available in the Czech Republic

The Beerbike. It’s a unique contraption that has proven to be a popular tourist attraction in cities like Munich and Amsterdam.

Aboard the bike, which resembles a short bar that can seat sixteen patrons, riders drink and pedal as a (sober) driver and guide takes them around the city.

Beer and cycling? It’s no surprise that the bike has now entered the Czech market.

In Prague, the Beerbike comes with a sober driver/tour guide and a 30L keg of Pilsner, and can be booked at a rate of 350€ for two hours, and 100€ each additional hour. 

That might seem like a lot, but for a group of ten tourists it would work out to 35€ a head for six pints and two-hour bike tour of Prague.

For an extra 50€, patrons can employ a “pretty waitress” for the ride, an offer that is emphasized no less than four times on the Beerbike homepage.

In Brno, another version of the beerbike has found a permanent home at Hostinec U Daana, where patrons can enjoy a pint on the vehicle while it’s not in operation. 

More information about the Brno version can be found through its Facebook page; according to this iDnes.cz article, the bike is currently available for private events, but owner Marek Fišer hints at regular rides in the future.

While the Prague bike boasts a slick white design, this one is a rebranded incarnation of a Dutch beerbike.

Naturally, the Brno variation serves up Starbrno in lieu of Pilsner.
