Prague’s Pankrác metro station on line C, closed for nearly a year, is set to reopen at 2 p.m. today, 17 days ahead of schedule, the Prague Transport Company (DPP) reported.

During the closure, workers replaced the escalators and elevator and completed the transfer to the new metro line D, which will eventually connect to Prague Airport. While transfer work for the future Metro Line D continues behind the scenes, regular service is fully restored.

While the physical tram tracks to Arkády Pankrác are permanent, the extra "shuttle" trams between there and Pražské povstání are being removed from the schedule now that the metro is back in service.

Additionally, the Bus 193 line is being shortened to end at Pražské povstání, and the extra reinforcement buses on Line 134 are being pulled as of this afternoon.

In early January, DPP also closed Českomoravská station on line B for reconstruction. Work there includes escalator and elevator replacement and wiring upgrades. The station is expected to reopen before March 25, ahead of the World Figure Skating Championships at the nearby O2 Arena.

This year’s fleet features a three-section Škoda-Solaris 24M trolleybus, a historic Tatra K2 tram, and festive Prague Castle decorations on Mazačka. Carols will play in selected trams adorned with over 34,000 lights. Full schedule here.
