During his nine years as a coach, Richard has also developed a strong track record as a highly effective trainer in coaching and leadership skills working both with independent professionals and managers/leaders within organisations. He has also served in leadership roles within the International Coach Federation (ICF), as Co-President of the UK ICF and on the ICF´s global board of directors.

Richard initially trained as a coach with the Coaches Training Institute and, subsequently, completed training in brain-based coaching with David Rock, the founder of Results Coaching Systems. This led four years ago to Richard becoming a director of Results Coaching Systems Europe, which has trained over 600 individuals on its public courses and around 400 on programmes within the workplace.  He has also delivered coaching skills courses and workshops in the US, Germany and Belgium, as well as the United Kingdom, including at ICF conferences.

A Professional Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation Richard also sustains a portfolio of executive/leadership coaching clients, mainly leaders or managers within organisations, and takes on team coaching assignments at regular intervals. He has worked with clients in professional services, banking, health services and retail.

Richard focuses on helping clients to achieve significant change in the minimum of time. Using brain-based coaching techniques, combined with a highly intuitive approach, Richard brings energy, challenge and pragmatism to his coaching and facilitation. He is direct in challenging assumptions and encouraging individuals to push through the boundaries they set on their own achievements. He is known for giving feedback that is essential to know but sometimes difficult to hear.

Client Testimonials
‘This was an incredible experiential learning journey with Richard Bentley. These coaching skills and techniques have not only served their purpose in the ‘pure’ sense of coaching, but they have improved my facilitation and ability to guide key stakeholders´ thought process in driving successful outcomes for the business.´ Claire Davey, Manager, Deloitte LLP

‘Our two-day Management Team Meeting was a huge success.   It was tough going; the first day in particular threw up some real problems and I was not sure how it would all end.  However, having agreed the objective with Richard in advance I found it an immense benefit not to have to manage the process as well as think about my own role and how I relate to other team members.   As a facilitator he stuck to the terms of reference and time scales, although he did this flexibly, and we got what we wanted – a management team that is united and has a clear sense of its role and priorities in the coming year. Great.´ Ian Ducat , Regional Secretary, UNISON
