Popular Prague delivery service Bolt Food has revealed its customers' favorite dining options in the 2021 Bolt Food Restaurant Awards, based on customer data sourced from the Bolt platform. Winning restaurants across ten categories were awarded a Golden Broccoli statuette.

"The Golden Broccoli Award represents appreciation for the hard work of our partner restaurants. The whole industry deserves that, because hospitality is truly hard work, not to mention the two years of uncertainty due to the pandemic," Marek Maxa, Bolt Food's manager for the Czech Republic, stated in a press release.

"The Golden Broccoli Award is unique in that it is not given out by critics but by users. The Golden Broccoli is awarded based on the number of orders, user ratings, and other data from the application collected over the course of 2021.”

Bolt awarded Prague restaurants based on a selection of individual categories rather than a "top ten" style ranking of participating venues, but one restaurant stood out above all others.

Paprika, which has locations in both Prague 2 and Prague 5, took home Bolt's "Beloved" award for the highest-rated restaurant on the platform. The Mediterranean venue specializes in hummus, falafel, and other popular middle eastern dishes.

"Of course, we were aware of high ratings from our customers in the app, but we really didn't expect that we would become the most popular restaurant on Bolt Food in all of Prague," said Paprika owner Alen Levi.

Bolt's "Treat Yourself" award, given to the best option for special occasions, was won Vinohrady venue Lasagneria. While the restaurant's prices don't scream luxury, the quality of their dishes certainly does.

Diego Beer Bar in Karlín was tapped for Bolt's "Hidden Treasure" award, though the data used to determine that category was not specified. We can personally attest to Diego's character, however, which is even better in person with a wide selection of craft microbrews on tap that aren't available through the Bolt app.

Sometimes once just isn't enough: PokeHaus won Bolt's "Can't Stop" award for the most repeat orders. The venue was the first to bring trendy Hawaiian poke to Prague, and now operates two restaurants in Prague 1 and Prague 7.

Havelská Koruna took home the "King Svíčková" award for the best svíčková, a classic Czech dish consisting of beef sirloin in a vegetable sauce traditionally served with dumplings and cream. The venue, a canteen-style location in Prague's city center, also gets bonus points for its affordable prices and wide selection of Czech classics.

Matoka North American Spot won Bolt's "Night Munchies" award, given to Prague's most popular late-night venue. In addition to American classics like cheesesteak and burgers, Matoka also serves up classic Canadian guilty pleasure poutine.

Linh's Vegan Corner won Bolt's award for "Vegan Heaven", given to the most popular vegan restaurant based on user ratings and amounts of orders. The Vietnamese venue also has a separate market in Prague's Old Town, and specializes in homemade vegan desserts.

Bolt's "Born Star" award, given to the most popular venue that opened in 2021, was handed out to John Polpo Burgers. The popular burger joint has already outgrown its former Žižkov home, and is currently putting the finishing touches on a new location that should be up and running in the coming weeks.

Bolt isn't only about delivery: customers can also order pick-up through the platform and save on courier fees. Sushi Go, with its convenient location by Jiřího z Poděbrad, won the "Walk for Food" award for most pick-up orders through the platform.

It should be noted that while Bolt cooperates with a wide number of venues within the Czech capital, not all of Prague's restaurants use the platform; those that don't would therefore be ineligible for consideration in the Bolt awards.
