Prague’s open-air culture spaces start the season on a high

Located in Holešovice, Areál7 is a new open-air space with an impressive 14,864 m² area, offering a variety of cultural and social events. Open since May, the venue will host everything from live concerts to food festivals, stand-up comedy, and more.

From May 9 to 25, the Beer Garden in the new multi-purpose outdoor space will be transformed into a hockey epicenter. All championship matches, including those where the defending Czech champions will go into battle again, will be shown on large-screen projections. Other nootable events include a performance by Empire of the Sun on Aug. 14.

For a more laid-back vibe with a stunning view, head to the Radost Roof on Žižkov’s iconic Winston Churchill Square. Open from May 1, this rooftop spot boasts breathtaking panoramic views of the city, with a carefully curated food menu and DJs. It's a prime spot for sunset views, morning yoga, and live music. Look out for events like acoustic performances and even pub quizzes.

On May 10, Dvorek Holešovické Šachty hosts its own summer kick-off with a lively event featuring music, food, and shopping. From 3 p.m. to 1 a.m., enjoy a live DJ lineup, shop at the upcycled market, and savor delicious bites from a pizza pop-up and grilling stations. The outdoor bar will also be open, making it an ideal place to relax and soak in the festive atmosphere with friends.

The former Holešovice Market slaughterhouse celebrates its 130th anniversary with year-round events. Through May 14, Hall 17 hosts a pop-up café, offering daily lectures, “Holy Mass for Meat,” and the gastro-performance BEEF. Evening concerts feature artists like WWW NEUROBEAT and Slut. The venue also includes an exhibition showcasing the area’s history through period photographs.

The open-air music season at Stalin (The Metronome) has kicked off, bringing techno to the granite dance-floor of one of Letná's most coveted gathering spots. Free parties overlooking Prague's gorgeous skyline will run nightly from Wednesday to Saturday, featuring local artists, drink stations, and entrancing light installations.

May 17 celebrates the arrival of Bike Jesus's outdoor season as they reopen their expansive garden with stages, food, and immaculate summer vibes. The space will remain open to accompany the alternative music venue's future program of events, with dancing and conversation certain to be in full swing for the remainder of the season.

The garden of Holešovice's favorite coffee spot has just re-opened. Vnitroblock's artfully curated space will play host to many musical guests, including their weekly Block live! sessions every Friday. Pair a cocktail with a bite from the outdoor grill to welcome the garden season in Prague.
