If you’ve run out of lifestyle activity ideas in Czechia, one of Europe’s most iconic car brands is about to drive some serious inspiration. From May 4–24, the historic Mánes Gallery in Prague will host a rare design-led Mercedes-Benz experience marking 140 years of automotive innovation.
Part of the “Mercedes-Benz Studio” initiative, the program brings the brand into central urban spaces, creating a central hub where visitors can explore its design, engage with local culture, and experience its “Welcome home” concept.
Prague is among a select group of global destinations across four continents, where guests can get up close with historic car models, participate in curated lifestyle-focused events, and more. Most of the program is free to enter, with workshops and guided sessions available to book in advance.
What to see: classic cars and new models
From the very first patented motor car to today’s latest high-end models, you'll have access to a lineup of rare Mercedes-Benz vehicles spanning 140 years of automotive innovation. The three-week program is structured around distinct themes, with each week bringing a different set of vehicles into focus.
The opening week traces the brand’s evolution from its origins to today. Visitors can see a fully functional replica of the 1886 Patentwagen, on loan from a Czech collector, alongside recent models such as the new S-Class in its Czech premier. The new Mercedes-Benz CLA, named European Car of the Year 2026, will appear both as a production model and as a life-size design sculpture in collaboration with Hot Wheels.
The second week focuses on design, craftsmanship and customization, with the Mercedes-Maybach SL Monogram Series, iconic G-Class, and the updated EQS in its Czech premiere, alongside a 300 SL roadster and a pink CLA art piece by Gustaf Westman.
The final week highlights performance, led by the one and only Mercedes-AMG ONE with hybrid powertrain and AMG PureSpeed – an extraordinary speedster with the radically open design – alongside a rare 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLS racing replica shown in the country for the first time.
As the program changes week by week, it is best to plan your visit around the event schedule to avoid missing specific highlights.
What to explore: design, shopping and workshops
Mercedes-Benz Studio Prague isn’t just about cars. The “Welcome Home” motto is a nod to everything that makes Prague special for locals and expats alike. The concept also reflects the company's focus on connecting global design with communities in Czechia, giving smaller Prague businesses visibility within a high-profile setting.
LEMARKET will be on-site to provide a curated selection of fashion, beauty, design and lifestyle goods. Special workshops pair the expertise of local artisans with opportunities for guests to create their own perfume or candle, build the perfect bouquet, join fun-filled Art Wine and Coffee events and more.
What to do: activities for all ages
A rich lineup of family-friendly activities is planned during the opening hours of the Mercedes-Benz Studio event. These are designed to be hands-on and accessible, making it easy to spend several hours on site without needing to plan multiple stops across the city.
Kids can discover their inner inventor in a science zone focused on robotics, getting to grips with (and even programming) the kinds of wacky contraptions Carl Benz himself would have approved. Younger children can let their imaginations run wild by painting mini plaster cars in the 3D shape of Mercedes models.
Adults, meanwhile, can sign up for regular exercise activities throughout the festival, including barre classes and evening running clubs. On May 9, reserve your space for a raucous night of music and dancing, when the Al Rivera Trio brings the tones of Venezuela to the banks of the Vltava, before Salsa Night rocks Galerie Mánes to the rhythms of Cuba.
