Manifesto Market, an open-air food-and-design market housed in shipping containers between the Florenc bus station and Masarykovo nádraží, will be hosting its first Halloween trick-or-treat event for families this Wednesday, October 31.

The celebration is a welcome addition to the growing number of options for trick-or-treaters in the Czech capital, including a charity event in Vinohrady and the Nebusice trick-or-treat in Prague 6.

Beginning at 5 pm, the Manifesto Market Halloween party promises illuminated lanterns, face-painting and, of course, candy. The market will be specially heated for the occasion and will offer plenty of seasonal food and drinks, including Piu Piu cocktails for children as well as adult libations.

From 5 to 7 pm, kids can trick-or-treat at all the containers across the marketplace to experience this American autumn tradition with a Czech twist.

The event is free and vendors will be offering discounts to those in costume.

Grown-up fun is also in the works with a happy hour taking place at the bar containers starting at 6 pm (try a Bloody Mary, sparkling Scary Smash or spicy Autumn Fire) while Dj sets kick off from 7 pm.

If you haven’t yet visited Prague’s first cash-free container market, the Halloween party will be the last event of the season before the project takes a technical break from November 1-21 while undergoing a redesign for its Winter Market, opening November 22.

Manifesto Market opened in Prague this past June. Launched by urban-planning non-profit reSITE, it is situated on part of an area slated for permanent redevelopment designed by Zaha Hadid Architects.
