Prague’s seasonal ferries and several popular excursion trains make their final scheduled journeys of the year today, Sunday, Nov. 1, before taking a winter break.
The shutdown affects three ferry routes, the Brdy cyclobus, the family-oriented Cyklohráček train and seasonal tourist trains connecting Prague with destinations across Central Bohemia and beyond. Regular services are expected to return in spring 2027.
Two year-round ferry routes will continue operating through winter: P1 between Sedlec and Zámky, and P2 between V Podbabě and Podhoří.
Which ferry routes are stopping?
The seasonal break applies to P4 between Dostihová and Belárie, P5 between Císařská louka and Výtoň, and P6 between Lahovičky and Nádraží Modřany.
For passengers who use these crossings for walks, cycling trips or journeys across the Vltava, Sunday is the final opportunity to travel on them during the regular 2026 season.
The P1 and P2 routes remain in operation without a seasonal timetable change, according to Prague Integrated Transport’s announcement.
Prague’s public transport ferries are expected to carry more than 550,000 passengers and over 53,000 bicycles this year.
P2 is consistently the busiest crossing, carrying approximately 280,000 passengers annually between Podbaba and Podhoří. Unlike the three seasonal routes, it provides a connection across the river throughout the year.
Tourist trains finish, but festive trips are planned
Sunday also marks the final regular departures of the Český ráj, Kokořínský rychlík, Lužický rychlík, Posázaví, Brdy and Rakovnický rychlík tourist train services.
The Brdy cyclobus is likewise finishing its season. These services offer options for trips outside Prague during the warmer months and will resume next spring.
Cyklohráček, the children’s excursion train running between Prague and Slaný, also ends its regular schedule today. Its winter break will, however, include several special outings.
St. Nicholas and Advent journeys are planned for the last weekend of November, Nov. 28–29, and Saturday, Dec. 12, among other dates. These are special departures rather than a continuation of the train’s usual seasonal timetable.
Passengers planning a final trip today, or hoping to join one of the festive Cyklohráček outings, can find service information in PID’s announcement and check individual connections before setting out.
