One of Prague’s most useful YouTube channels, Honest Guide by Honza Mikulka & Janek Rubeš has saved countless tourists in the Czech capital from being ripped off by greedy taxi drivers, misleading exchange offices, and other scams.

In their latest video, Honest Guide takes a free day to save visitors (and perhaps some residents) with some free things to do and cheap beer to drink right in the center of Prague.

After a stop with a scenic view at Karlovo náměstí, Honest Guide heads to CAMP, Prague’s center for architecture and city planning, which offers visitors a number of permanent and temporary Prague-based exhibits free of charge.

One of their current exhibits is a unique SimCity-inspired game that lets users manipulate a large-screen version of Prague by adding cars, schools, tourist services, and other options.

You can play the Prague SimCity game at CAMP through the end of December, but the venue offers free exhibits and other things to do throughout the year, including a library with English-language books.

Honest Guide’s next stop is at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius Cathedral just a few blocks away, where you can see preserved WWII bullet holes in the facade, dating back to when Nazi forces staged a fierce siege on the Czech paratroopers who assassinated Reinhard Heydrich.

Entrance to the crypt underneath the Church, where the paratroopers barricaded themselves inside, is free of charge.

Honest Guide’s last stop around the corner is for a refreshment, which might be one of the cheapest beers you can find in central Prague: U Žaludů on Na Zbořenci streets serves up 10° Staropramen (29 CZK), 11° Kozel (29 CZK), and 12° Krakanos (33 CZK) at low prices for the city center along with meals that won’t break the bank at 98 CZK.
